SOMON AIR INTENDS TO PURCHASE ANOTHER 5 HELICOPTERS

Somon Air signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Airbus group of companies under which the airline intends to acquire another 5 helicopters (one H125 helicopter, two H130 and two H175) in addition to H125 that has been already purchased and delivered to Tajikistan, as well as the latest Airbus family aircraft from direct manufacturer. The document was signed on November 7 in France following a meeting of the official delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan under the leadership of the Founder of Peace and National Unity - the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, respected Emomali Rahmon with entrepreneurs and investors from France.

Let us remind, on October 28, 2019 during a hand-over ceremony at the «Eurocopter» facilities in the Republic of Kazakhstan capital of Nur-Sultan the first H125 helicopter has been transferred to the Somon Air senior management. The ceremony was attended by representatives of Airbus Helicopters senior management, Kazakhstan Engineering and Kazakh Export companies. The H125 is the first helicopter registered and operated in the Republic of Tajikistan. The H125 helicopter was assembled in Kazakhstan by «Eurocopter Kazakhstan Engineering» LLP. The implementation of this project was made possible because of the active participation, financing and the support of the Export Insurance Company «Kazakh Export» JSC and Orienbank OJSC, also with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The H125 helicopter has high maneuverability and offers pilots excellent visibility. It has low vibration in the cabin, and there are 5 passenger seats. The H125 model beats all other types of single-engine helicopters in its class in its technical characteristics, multifunctionality, level of safety and affordability, as well as in terms of operation in extreme weather conditions. This helicopter model is adapted for operation in high altitude and hot climates.

At the initiative of the Founder of Peace and National Unity — the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, the years of 2019 to 2021 have been announced as period of development of villages, tourism and folk crafts. The H125 helicopter, which is an excellent addition to the Somon Air fleet, will also contribute to the development of tourism and business aviation within the republic. To date, Somon Air has successfully operated flights from Tajikistan to Germany, the UAE, Turkey, China, Russia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. The airline fleet currently consists of Boeing 737-300, -800 and -900 aircraft and H125 helicopter.
