Flight with children

On domestic flights of Somon Air, a passenger has the right to carry one child under 5 years old without providing a separate seat free of charge. If desired, the passenger can book a separate seat for him, but in this case, the ticket is issued as for a child under 12 years old.

For the second, third and more babies under 5 years old, as well as for children aged 5 to 12 years, for safety reasons, it is mandatory to issue an air ticket with the provision of a separate seat for each child.

A child from 5 to 12 years old is usually issued a ticket with a 50% discount, depending on the applicable fare. The ticket entitles you to a seat and free baggage transportation in accordance with the class of service. On international flights, each adult passenger has the right to carry one baby up to 2 years old without buying a separate ticket. There will be no separate seat for the baby, that will be on the arms of an adult. Children from 2 to 12 years old are issued a ticket with a seat and a discount of 50% of the ticket price.

It is not recommended for newborn babies to take part in air flights in the first 7 days after birth, since there is no opportunity to provide specialized medical care on board. The carriage of prematurely born children is carried out only if there is a medical certificate confirming that the air carriage is safe for the child.

Transportation of unaccompanied children

On domestic and international flights of the company, children from 8 to 16 years old can fly unaccompanied by adults. In this case, the discounts provided for the child's rate do not apply. Carriage of unaccompanied children is charged at the full adult rate.

You can buy a ticket for an unaccompanied child at any office where Somon Air tickets are sold. The parent or guardian of the child must be present when purchasing the ticket and sign the Unaccompanied Minor Form (Handling advice).

Unaccompanied children are accepted for carriage only on direct non-stop flights of the airline. The service is not available on charter flights and codeshare flights. It is not possible to purchase a ticket for an unaccompanied child over the Internet, because escort must be agreed in advance.

You can buy a ticket for an unaccompanied child at any Somon Air sales office. The parent or guardian of the child must be present when purchasing the ticket and sign the Unaccompanied Minor Form (Handling advice).

An unaccompanied minor citizen of the Republic of Tajikistan must have a birth certificate and a notarized power of attorney from a parent or legal representative on domestic flights; on international flights-international passport, notarized power of attorney from a parent or legal representative appointing Somon Air flight attendants to accompany the child during the flight.

Upon departure, the parent or the person accompanying the child at the airport must hand the child from hand to hand to the airline employee, as well as hand over a questionnaire with information about the young passenger and information about the greeters.

The representative of the airline, together with the child, goes through the check-in for the flight, passport control and personally puts him on the plane and hands the child over to the crew. Upon arrival at the place, the stewardess hands over the child to the representative of the airline, who, after passing through passport control, hands him over to those who meet him. Upon arrival, the child will only be handed over to the persons indicated in the application after verification of their identity documents.
